A custom 3D trail map of your hike
Flat maps and printed photos don’t show what a hike felt like: the climb, the ridge, how far down the valley was. A Topo & Timber keepsake is a 3D printed model of the real terrain around your route, with the path you walked raised in a contrasting color and a nameplate in your words, mounted on wood.
Design yours. The 3D preview updates as you choose, and designing is free.
How it’s different from a regular topo map
- It’s your route, not a park map. The model is built around the GPS track you upload, or the trail Ryan traces for you.
- It’s real terrain. Elevation comes from the U.S. Geological Survey, so every peak and valley is where it actually is.
- You can feel it. The relief is physical. Run a finger along the route and you’ll find each climb.
- It says what you want. Up to three nameplate lines: the trail, the date, who was there.
Your choices
- Size: 150 × 150 mm (about 6 × 6 in) or 190 × 190 mm (about 7.5 × 7.5 in), measured as the printed terrain.
- Colors: Sandstone & Crimson, Slate & Ember, Forest & Gold, Charcoal & Bone, Terracotta & Cream.
- Relief: 1×, 2×, 1.5×, 2.5×. Flatter routes look better with more.
- Wood: natural alder, walnut, live-edge slab. Live-edge slabs are natural, so each one is different.
Price and timing
Small $119, large $159. Walnut adds $20, and “Build it for me” (no GPX needed) adds $50. Shipping is a flat $12 in the U.S. The first 25 keepsake orders get a founding price of $99 small or $139 large.
After checkout we email a preview to approve. Nothing is printed until you approve it. Most keepsakes ship about two weeks later.
Where to start

Questions
Is this a map of the whole trail or just my route?
Your route. The terrain is cropped around the path you uploaded, so the model is centered on where you actually walked, including side trips and the way back.
How accurate is the terrain?
It is built from U.S. Geological Survey elevation data, so peaks, ridges and valleys are where they really are. Fine detail is limited by the print size and 3D printer layers. The relief can be shown true to scale or exaggerated up to 2.5× so it reads better.
What is it made of?
The terrain, route and nameplate are 3D printed in matte PLA, then mounted by hand on natural alder, walnut or a live-edge slab.
Can I print it myself?
Yes. Print-it-yourself files are $24: multicolor 3MF files for Bambu Studio and other multicolor printers, plus the nameplate, for personal use.
Do you ship outside the U.S.?
Not yet, and routes need to be in the United States for now.
